La Serenissima

I began doing calendars using my photography in 1997, acknowl-edging that the calendar was
an excuse for the project and to interest a paper supplier and a printer to donate their efforts and materials. The calendars were
4x6", a size that would yield 32 pages out of a 25x38” sheet of stock.

La Serenissima was a collabora–
tion with the brilliant landscape architect and draftsman, Laurie Olin, with whom we spent many happy days in Paris (but not in Venice). My favorite quote about Venice is by correspondent
Robert Benchley, cabling back to the New York office “Streets full of water. Please advise.”
