Omaha, Nebraska, wayfinding

Finding your way in Omaha

Reflecting the need for
anticipated regular update as downtown Omaha attracts new residents from the suburbs and
adds cultural and civic desti-
nations, this modular design
for pedestrian wayfinding is
extremely flexible. Color is
used not for geographic dis-
tricts but rather for destination category—public, cultural, open
space, and transit. The system
has recently been implemented privately (rather than by the city)
with different colors and without photographs or maps, which were located to be visible to users in wheelchairs.
