Penn's plan for Philadelphia

The Center City District is

a business-led organization
whose mission is to enhance

the attractiveness, safety, and competitiveness of Philadelphia’s downtown. Begun in 1990, the
CCD provides sidewalk and open space sanitation services, Com- munity Service Representatives connected with the Philadelphia police, and organizes events to promote Center City’s environ- mental and cultural qualities.

true North—and the circling of
Logan Square in 1919.
