The power of numbers

This animation was created for

my TED-X presentation in 2000 (see Multi-axiality). In reviewing the data on the subject, I was appalled at the disparity in

poverty between the wealthiest and the poorest demographics

by race, age, marital status,

and family size: the numbers alone were, for me, emotionally powerful and compelling. The presentation was cited later in

the conference by Sinbad and

by Uwe Reinhardt, professor of political economy at Princeton.
